Details
World War I era Colt M1911 with a 5-inch barrel and checkered wood grips. The slide is marked “MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY,” and the frame bears the “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” marking. Serial number 189861 falls within a 1917–1918 Colt shipment range. The pistol retains its early M1911 profile, including a straight mainspring housing and long trigger.
As shown in the photos, the metal has extensive finish loss and mottled surface oxidation, while the grips show wear. Originality of the finish, internal parts, and mechanical condition have not been verified.
