Details
This historic M1911A1 features an Ithaca Gun Company frame manufactured in 1943 and a Colt-manufactured slide. Chambered in .45 ACP, the pistol bears the correct U.S. military markings, including “United States Property,” “M1911A1 U.S. Army,” and the FJA inspection stamp of Colonel Frank J. Atwood.
The combination of an Ithaca frame and Colt slide indicates that this is a military “mixmaster,” likely assembled with serviceable components during a military rebuild or repair. These mixed-manufacturer pistols are an authentic part of the M1911A1’s long service history.
The pistol is in good overall condition for its age. The finish shows thinning, scratches, handling marks, and general wear consistent with previous use and military service. It retains brown checkered military-style grips and standard fixed sights. Please review all photographs carefully for the most accurate representation of its condition, markings, and configuration.
