World War I–era Colt Model 1911 U.S. Army pistol, serial number 351584, chambered in .45 ACP with a 5-inch barrel. Features include the “MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY” slide marking, double-diamond checkered walnut grips, and visible finish wear along the slide, frame, and edges.
The accompanying Colt archive letter documents that this pistol was sold to the United States Government and shipped to Bush Terminal in Brooklyn, New York, on July 1, 1918, as part of a shipment of 5,000 pistols. Colt’s records list its original factory finish as blue.
